Since
ancient times and until the present day, Chinese painting has
perennially depicted the subjects of Chinese culture. Wang
Shoushan masterfully unites found objects from ancient dynasties
and combines them with the beauty and freshness of a lotus blossom
or antiquated porcelain. These are poetic compositions,
grounded in romance and symbolic of a culture that has thrived
for over 5000 years.
Greatly
influenced by the European and Russian schools of art, Wang Shoushan
composes each painting with infinite attention to detail and the
use of warm light. His pigments are rich and luxuriant,
magically creating an “Old World” atmosphere to each outstanding
masterpiece.
