The Laguna College of Art and Design located in Laguna Beach , California , has a phenomenal Master of Fine Arts program which focuses on representational art and figurative realism.

The curriculum is similar in content to the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing ’s, classical training. The program emphasizes the union of comprehensive technical skill with a strong concept to produce a complete and coherent body of work at the end of the two year program. Each student is assigned a mentor, who is a professional artist at the forefront of the realist art scene on the West Coast. The mentors include, among others, DJ Hall, F.Scott Hess and Jeremy Lipking.

As a result the artists enrolled in this program can easily be referred to as the Young Masters.

This is an unusual opportunity to invest as a patron of the arts in the work of a very gifted artist. The majority of the students will be graduating in June 2008, so if the paintings of interest to you are listed as part of their MFA degree body of work, they can be bought now but will not be shipped until after the show. A major incentive to buy the paintings now is that the prices on the paintings will be raised the week before the show, if unsold, by at least 20%. Whoever purchases this work will be acknowledged as a patron of the arts.
