Born in 1978, Miss Zhou Fang is an exceptionally gifted emerging young artist

Her masterful use of light and shadow and attention to detail carries us back to the paintings of Jan Van Eyck and Vermeer. Classically schooled in the province of Anhui, China, Miss Zhou began her career in 1999 in Shanghai. Zhou Feng has created a style of painting that at the same time gives homage to the teaching of traditional Chinese art and yet seeks her own style. Although her studies have an apparent influence of the Old Masters, her compositions continue to combine both Eastern and Western subjects, melding together an array of cultures. They are peaceful, serene compositions of found objects, presented to us with grace and beauty. A simple peach or pomegranate becomes a subject of reflection. Painted pottery is captured in an eternity of exquisite detail.
